Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) in Jacksonville, FL
The effects of gravity combined with shifting tissue can make the forehead area hang down over your brow. This gives you an aged and unhappy appearance that may not reflect how you feel on the inside. Brow lift surgery by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. John Obi, helps men and women in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, Atlantic Beach and surrounding areas of Florida, correct problems in the forehead area so they look younger and more relaxed.
What is a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)?
The brow lift, referred to as a forehead lift, is performed at Jacksonville Plastic Surgery by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. John Obi. The brow lift procedure is performed at our on-site surgical facility, on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation. Jacksonville Plastic Surgery Center is an accredited ambulatory surgery center.
What are the Benefits of a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)?
The decision to have a forehead lift is a very personal one and some of the most common benefits include:
- Restoring a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes
- Correcting drooping brows
- Improving the horizontal lines and furrows that make you appear angry, sad or tired
- Minimizing the visual effects of aging in your forehead
- Counteracting a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose
Brow lift surgery can enhance your appearance and self-confidence, in addition to giving your face a more refreshed and youthful look. The forehead lift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or eyelid lift. Most people find the brow lift procedure to be a very rewarding and beneficial experience.
What Happens During a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)?
In a forehead lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. In the conventional surgical method, the incision is hidden just at the hairline. The brow lift may also be performed with the use of an endoscope, a viewing instrument that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Both techniques yield similar results — smoother forehead skin and a more animated appearance.
There are risks involved with any surgical procedure and the specific risks and restrictions after surgery will be discussed in detail at your consultation with Dr. John Obi. Before the surgery, patients are advised to avoid smoking and taking any medications (aspirin, Vitamin E, etc.) that may affect bleeding.
What is the Downtime After Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) Surgery?
There are physical restrictions immediately following the surgery, which will be discussed with you during your consultation and again post-op. Typically patients are able to return to work or school within a week or ten days.
